Russell acts for companies, insolvency practitioners, directors, shareholders, property owners, developers and high-net-worth individuals in a broad range of commercial disputes. He is recognised for providing commercially focused advice in complex and high-value matters, with a particular focus on insolvency and restructuring disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes, building and construction litigation, property disputes, debt recovery, and regulatory proceedings.

 

Russell regularly advises clients throughout all stages of a dispute, from strategic pre-litigation advice and urgent interlocutory applications through to trial and enforcement proceedings. He has extensive experience managing matters before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court of Queensland, Federal Court of Australia.

 

Clients value Russell's ability to identify the key issues in a dispute quickly and develop practical strategies aligned with their commercial objectives. He understands that litigation is often only one component of a broader business or personal issue and works closely with clients to achieve efficient and commercially sensible outcomes.

 

Russell has particular experience acting in matters involving insolvency and bankruptcy, unfair preference claims, director and shareholder disputes, contractual disputes, building and construction claims, property disputes, debt recovery and enforcement proceedings, professional negligence claims, and regulatory investigations.

 

Outside of practice, Russell enjoys golf, fitness and spending time with his family.
